I have a tumblr stalker from Melbourne and this is getting kind of creepy…
On a more exciting note, I’m starting my internship at the Senator’s office tomorrow! :)
I have made the commitment to submit myself to my school work, California Phi Beta Lambda, UN Women, Organizing for Action, and U.S Senator Internship Program till December. I am basically not going to have a life besides volunteering my time to the wonderful organizations mentioned above and my education. Overwhelmed and tired but absolutely thrilled. Bring on university applications!!! Class of 2016
Losing “friends” who could care less about you isn’t always a bad thing. I’ve lost a lot of supposed “friends” over the past 2 years. I honestly have no regrets. Life goes on, and most importantly for me, I know who I can count on. Honestly, that’s all that matters to me. People who label others have no right to do so - they know nothing about my life and experiences to judge me for my actions.
I made a wise decision to cut people who don’t genuinely care from my life - and I’m sticking by it. People will say what they want - and I understand I have burnt a lot of bridges by removing them from my life. But I’m not going to pretend to be chummy with people I no longer get along with. I am not going to pretend to be friends with someone who talks about me behind my back.
We live in a beautiful world - there’s just so much to do and see. Brazilians are saying enough is enough to rampant corruption and have launched a highly successful Clean Record Law campaign. Indians and Somalians are fighting hard for women to turn horror into hope, by amplifying millions of our voices in the media to pressure governments to pass stronger laws to protect women.
It’s an amazing thing to be part of a community of citizens from every corner of the world, united in common and effective action. We as global citizens of the world. I am simple and easy to get along with, I am a global citizen and I want to bring tremendous possibilities for change in this place we call “Our Home.” I want to be part of this change.
To my family and my closest friends that I got to spend so much time with in Singapore, I love you guys. With all my heart. Nothing will replace you.
With so much love, hope, and crazy appreciation for this world-changing community,
